That's a Wrap!

So Honest Cheat has (mostly) wrapped as of last Saturday. There are three more shoot days in September, which a friend will be covering for me while I'm in China. I think everyone was really tired after 13 straight shoot days, but everything looked amazing on the monitor and I think the finished product will definitely be worth it! Here are some snaps from the last week on set:

Honest Cheat

So here I am, part of the way through the two week shoot for Honest Cheat, and things have been going really well so far! The cast and crew are all great, and we've been shooting at some really fun locations, including a really quirky downtown loft and a thrift store on Melrose. Here are some quick snaps I've taken on set, to give you a taste!

Son of Semele!

Exciting news!

I've been offered membership as a company member at Son of Semele Ensemble (SOSE)! They do some really great work, and have some exciting projects coming up, so I'm thrilled to join! Although it seems that I am the only non-actor member, but we'll see how that works out. They seem very enthusiastic about involving more non-actors, so hopefully it all goes smoothly!

Work on Honest Cheat keeps on sailing along. Had my first fitting with the lead actress yesterday and everything seems in good shape! Shooting starts on August 3rd, and I'm excited to get started!

Keepin busy!

Exciting news! I've been signed on to design Honest Cheat, a feature film, for about a year now, and several false starts later, it looks like we're finally starting pre-production! The shoot is for about two weeks in August, and I'm really excited to get started! The film is about a stuggling musician in LA, trying to make it big without selling out, and the obstacles he runs into along the way. It's gonna be a ton of work, but hopefully it'll be a rockin good time!

Meanwhile, I'm still sending out resumes, trying to make some connections within the local theater world. I've met some really great people so far, looking forward to working with them in the future! Also scouting for freelance sewing or graphic design work, and I have a few projects lined up for that as well.

Anyway, that's what's going on with me these days! Looking forward to getting my design assignments from UCLA for next year, although who knows when that will be.. cross your fingers for me that it's soon!

Hello and Welcome!

Hi Everyone!

This space is for posting news tidbits of what I'm up to and pictures of the projects I'm working on. Right now, the big news is this fancy new layout I just completed for laurawong.net! Hopefully you have a chance to poke around and check it out.

What else is new with me? Well, here are some things that are going on this summer:

- looking for costuming gigs
- working as a stitcher at the ParticleZoo
- freelance graphic design gigs
- attempting to learn Mandarin before my trip to China in September
- researching Chinese traditional costume in preparation for my trip
- designing Gypsy (purely for my own pleasure)
- growing my own veggies in the backyard
- attempting to learn to bake my own bread and can my own jam.
- sewing reconstructed dresses to sell (fingers crossed)
- catching up on the 'ol netflix queue

Definitely a nice respite from the chaos of the school year! At this rate I should be rested and ready to go, come September.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the newly redesigned site! See you next time!
